Increase in Homeowner Payments

“East or west, home is best,” goes the saying; but with the current historic global economic downturn, increasing unemployment rate, rising inflation, exorbitant energy prices, corporate meltdown, mortgage crisis, and scarcity of credit lines it is becoming more apparent that many people are being forced out of their sweet homes because they are unable to cope up with the increase in their unexpected and unplanned mortgage payments.

Foreclosures are on the rise and even those fortunate enough to be able to make their home payments in this recessionary period, are grappling with the fact that their home values are dwindling by the day. This is a national crisis of unprecedented proportions and many who have found themselves in this situation do not really know what to do, where to go or who to blame or approach for assistance. You are not alone and there’s light at the end of the tunnel because help is at hand.

Thousands of people have and are getting help now by calling the free homeowner’s hope hotline run by the Homeowners Preservation Foundation, and are getting worthwhile counseling and the necessary help they need to avoid a foreclosure. Others have decided to refinance their mortgages in order to get lower monthly payments or even moved to smaller homes or in a different neighborhood. Others have even gotten an additional part-time job or have a non-working adult member of the family get a job to cope up with the increased financial demands. The undesirable and ill-timed increase in homeowner’s payments has sent rippling shockwaves through our society but with the right knowledge, education, opportunity, will and the desire to protect one’s home, one can overcome this challenge.
